Nominations for the 2012 Citizens Academy are currently being accepted!
The Omaha Division’s FBI Citizens Academy classes are held in the spring in
Des Moines, Iowa and in the fall in Omaha, Nebraska. The classes are held
on Tuesday evenings and exact dates will be announced 60 days prior to the
start of each session. It should be noted that “firearms day” is held on a
Saturday during the Omaha session and on a Tuesday evening during the Des
Moines session.
Candidates must meet the following criteria:
• A recognized business, religious, or community leader
• Have an interest in community affairs & current issues that affect
the state and nation
• Be at least twenty-one (21) years of age
• Have no prior felony or serious misdemeanor convictions
• Have no misdemeanor or felony arrests within one year of application
• Consent to a background investigation
• Sign a non-disclosure of information agreement
